I am not overweight. Far from it. If I have a problem with my weight it is because I am slightly underweight. So my selection of low point weight watchers recipes is not for my own personal consumption.
However, I do know many people who do follow Weight Watchers plans with great determination. So, this post is for them and for you, if you are actively following a weight watchers plan.
Low Point WW recipes
The Weight Watchers diet system is centred around a points system for any food you choose to eat. SmartPoints are an evolution of the various points systems that weight watchers has utilised over the past few years.
Every day, you assign a number of Smartpoints to the meals you consume. These points are apportioned to your daily and/or weekly allowance, based on your weight-loss goals.
Weight Watchers introduced Smartpoints as an improvement to calorie counting methods. The reason for this points system is fairly simple because calorie counting does not fully represent the nutritional value of a food.
The example given by Weight Watchers is that 100 calories of cookies has far less nutritional value than 100 calories of turkey or tofu.
Recipes under 5 Smartpoints
Chicken is a popular choice for weight watchers. It is high in protein and low in fat. There are a number of chicken recipes in this selection: Instant Pot Salsa Chicken, Instant Pot Pineapple Chicken and Asparagus, Baked Buffalo Chicken Taquitos, Tuscan Chicken Pasta, Skinny Chicken Spaghetti.
However, there will be a time when you want something different so, you can have Caesar Salad Dressing or Oven-Baked Tilapia with Zucchini.
But, if you are set on dining with chicken then a sweet ‘n’ sour chicken might be more to your liking.
